27 Nov Developing professional practice in fostering

As an approved foster carer, it is crucial to both keep up to date with new practice guidance and regularly refresh knowledge in key areas of safeguarding and safe care. At Enhanced Foster Care, we run a professional training programme for our foster carers to further develop and enhance their practice.

A number of training workshops are running in November. These include Equality & Diversity, which aims to provide an understanding of the nature of disadvantage and practicing in an anti-discriminatory way.

Supporting and Understanding Challenging Behaviours aims to help foster carers with developing ‘looking beyond the behaviour’ techniques and skills in understanding and managing – as well as maintaining resilience in carers and developing safe and supportive peer support and supervision. Enhanced Foster Care also ensures foster carers understand the legal process behind care proceedings with a workshop that delivers a legislative overview and puts it into context.
