Services within Enhanced Children’s Services offer the ‘personal touch’ often missing from larger, national agencies that has held us in good stead over the years and is at the core of what we do. The services were established over 15 years ago from a passion and vision of what children, young people and their families have a right to receive, gained through the owner’s experience of working in a number of statutory settings. Enhanced Children’s Services is proud to be a practitioner owned and led group. The reputation and success of all of Enhanced Children’s Services are underpinned by our ethos and ability to achieve excellent outcomes for those placed with us by proactively and collaboratively working with children, their families, placing authorities, multi agency professionals and regulatory partners.
Jo is a ‘hands on’ CEO who discovered her interest and passion for working with young people during voluntary youth work in 1989. After completing her training and training other workers. She qualified as a social worker in 1995 and later completed her BA (Hons) in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care. As a social worker, Jo has experience across many statutory sectors within a fieldwork setting, working in Looked After Children, Child Protection and Assessment and Duty Teams. She has worked therapeutically with children and families in a Health setting and independent residential services for children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. From this experience, Jo formed a firm and passionate view about the opportunities that children and young people have a right to access, and truly believing this, she developed the concept for Wessex College which opened the first home and first day special school in March 2001. Recognising her commitment that children should, wherever possible, live within a family environment, Jo went on to establish Enhanced Foster Care in 2007 and latterly Enhanced Parent and Children’s Services, offering Parent & Child Assessment Services. As CEO of the Enhanced Children’s Services Group she is very proud that all services within the ECS Group were found to be ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features by Ofsted at the end of 2015.
